well dear, the joke plays on confusion between the word 'ocelot', and an 'oscillator' that is commonly modulated by synthesists. i have very handily linked to wikipedia articles on both subjects.
See, that's what I thought the joke was initially, but then I thought that it couldn't be because 'ocelot' and 'oscillator' look completely different and that perhaps something called and Ocelto that was like a laser harp but that I hadn't heard of.
